About the Journal

SAFAR: Journal of Islamic Hospitality and Tourism is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and practice in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and culture. The name SAFAR represents our core pillars: Siyahah (Tourism), Accommodation (Hospitality), Food (Culinary), Administration (Management), and Rihlah (Pilgrimage & Cultural Travel).
The journal serves as an intellectual platform for academics, researchers, and practitioners to disseminate original research, conceptual frameworks, and critical analyses within a multidisciplinary context. We bridge the gap between modern tourism industry developments and the profound values of Islamic traditions and Nusantara’s ethnic heritage.

Focus and Scope

SAFAR welcomes high-quality manuscripts covering, but not limited to, the following areas:
  1. Siyahah & Business Studies: General Tourism, Sharia Tourism Business, Travel Management, and Destination Marketing Strategies.
  2. Accommodation & Hospitality Management: Front Office Operations, Housekeeping Management, Hotel Administration, and Service Excellence.
  3. Food & Beverage (F&B) and Hygiene: Culinary Management, Gastronomy, Food Safety, and Restaurant Sanitation & Hygiene.
  4. Administration & Travel Logistics: Travel Agency Management, Hajj and Umrah Management, and Tourism Business Administration.
  5. Rihlah, Tradition & Culture: Pilgrimage (Ziarah) Tourism, Nusantara Ethnic Traditions, Islamic Culture, Islam Nusantara Studies, and Travel Health & Safety.

Publication Policy

SAFAR is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous single-blind peer review process to ensure quality and objectivity. The journal is published periodically May and November and provides Open Access to the global community to support the worldwide exchange of knowledge.
