Abstract

The halal industry has become an important part of the global economy, as it involves religious values, product quality, and consumer trust across countries. In addition to the demand for halal products, the assurance of halal compliance and legal protection in financing are also key factors supporting the growth of this sector. This study aims to examine two main aspects: first, the concept of guarantees within legal-economic relations in the halal industry; and second, a comparison of halal assurance systems in Iran, Sri Lanka, Egypt, and Oman. The research uses a qualitative approach and a comparative case study design, based on data from halal regulations, certification authority reports, and government policies in each country. The findings show that industrial guarantees in the economic context include fiduciary rights, mortgages, pledges, and surety bonds to protect creditors. Meanwhile, halal assurance systems vary significantly among the four countries. Iran and Egypt use centralized, state-controlled systems, Sri Lanka relies on an independent body with international standards, and Oman is still in the process of strengthening its system. These findings highlight the need for a unified international halal standard. Harmonizing standards and promoting mutual recognition among countries are necessary steps to establish a more reliable and globally competitive halal assurance system.
